Daily Devotional - October 9th

Daily Read “ Jeremiah 12:1-14:10; 1 Thessalonians 1:1-2:8; Psalm 79:1-13; Proverbs 24:30-34
The birth of the church was dynamic and earth shaking. It began in the upper room where followers of Christ were told to wait for the promise. In obedience, they gathered in one accord praying, worshipping, and waiting. In a suddenly, the dunamis (miracle working) power came into the room with a sound like a rushing, mighty wind. Holy Spirit blew into those gathered and the church was birthed in an explosion of fire that reached the uttermost most parts of the world!
I never intended for the gospel of My Kingdom to be preached from the empty words of mere man, but endued and infused with My miracle working, dunamis power. My Word is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Holy Spirit longs to move in and through you to spread the love of Christ throughout the world. Yield to Him and He will breathe on your words which will ignite fires wherever you go. He will go before you and prepare the way for the preaching of My Kingdom message. He will establish inroads into the hardest of hearts. People will not only see but feel the miracle working power of Holy Spirit pour from your life and in response, they will run into the saving embrace of Jesus.
If you have never experienced the life changing baptism of Holy Spirit as the disciples encountered in the Upper Room, this is your opportunity. If you would like to receive the infilling of the dunamis (miracle working) power of Holy Spirit so that you can outpour His power to others, you are invited to pray this prayer:
Precious Jesus, thank you for the blood sacrifice you made for me when You laid down Your life that I might receive forgiveness and redemption. You said You had to go away so Holy Spirit could come and baptize me with fire. You also said that we do not have because we do not ask. So, I ask You to baptize me with the Holy Spirit and fire. I want everything You have for me Lord. I want to receive every gift that You want to give me and allow Holy Spirit to use me in those gifts as He directs. In this moment, I open my mouth and ask You to fill it with the words and sounds from Holy Spirit as He prays through me Your perfect will in power! In Your Name I pray, Amen!
