Daily Devotional - August 3rd

Daily Read - 2 Chronicles 33:14-34:33; Romans 16:10-27; Psalm 26:1-12; Proverbs 20:19
There are those who only serve their selfish desires, they carry a form of godliness, but deny the power. They teach in My name, but have no idea who I am because they do not have personal relationship with Me. My name becomes a camouflage or facade covering their real motives of deception. Their lips flatter while poisonous words of error penetrate into the minds of the listener.
A spirit of error has a strategy and that is to cause confusion and division in My body. It slithers into the church pretending to know truth, but in actuality propagating lies. Be watchful and alert, do not be deceived into believing such falsehoods; they only lead to divisions within the church.
Walk away, avoiding those who teach and say things contrary to My Word. Do not be quick to swallow things said and taught without first testing and proving all things according to My Word. Hold fast to that which is good and true. Do not allow the enemy of deception to lure you into divisive arguments and schisms. His intention is to bring disunity and discord in My body.
Deception entered the garden and has always been a weapon against My people. In the days to come, the enemy plans to increase this onslaught. Although he doesn't know exactly what I am about ready to do on this earth, he recognizes significant shifts in the spiritual atmosphere. To meet this challenge, he commissions demonic forces to infiltrate the church with an increase of error and deception.
Press into the truth of My Word and study it as you have never done before. It is vitally important to know My Word and My voice because both will protect you in the days ahead.
Know the truth, for the truth sets you free!
Lord Jesus, I ask for increased discernment in this hour. I do not want to fall into deception by following the voice of the stranger. I want to know Your voice to the point that I will immediately recognize when the enemy tries to mimic and imitate it. I pray for the body of Christ to rise up and press into the truth of Your Word. Give us a hunger to read, study, and devour it. Bring us to a place where all we desire is Your truth and everything else brings distaste to our mouths. Amen!
Romans 16:17-18
I appeal to you, brethren, to be on your guard concerning those who create dissensions
and difficulties and cause divisions, in opposition to the doctrine (the teaching) which you have been taught.
[I warn you to turn aside from them, to] avoid them.
For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites and base desires,
and by ingratiating and flattering speech, they beguile the hearts of the unsuspecting and simpleminded [people].
