What a gift! Peace in the midst of earthly chaos and upheaval. A peace that transcends reason and logic cocooning us inside a spiritual metamorphosis. While the world and things in it spin out of control, we remain shielded in the shalom peace of Christ transforming us from one degree of glory to another.
 
As with many things in the Kingdom, His peace is a gift needing someone to receive its wonderful benefits. It invites us to run into its protective refuge, but so often life with all of its trials and tribulations wins our RSVP. Without even realizing it, we turn down the Lord's invitation of peace and accept the enemy's proposal of fear without even blinking an eye. Why do we do this? Do you suppose it's because we accept those things which are most familiar to us?
 
When invitations come in the mail, we tend to disregard those coming from people we do not know very well and accept those received from friends and loved ones with whom we have relationship. The more time we spend with someone getting to know their nature and character, the more likely we are to understand and accept their gifts and invitations.
 
As we pursue our relationship with Christ, we begin finding out more about His nature and character. His ways become more familiar to us than the old ways we have grown accustomed too. We come to realize we have the same nature as His and we start living from that place. We learn to receive and flow in His attributes rather than accepting the destructive temptations offered by the enemy.  
 
The Lord extends an irresistible invitation to each of us today; His peace that passes understanding. Another invitation is coming in the mail; one filled with fear and worry.
