1 Samuel 16:7b
For the Lord does not see as man sees;
for man looks at the outward appearance,
but the Lord looks at the heart."
My ways are definitely not man's ways. The world's standard of what is or isn't acceptable is much different from mine. While the world system dictates promotion based many times on appearances, promotion in My kingdom comes from the dictates of the heart.
I look past the natural into the inner thoughts and intentions of the heart. I search for those with surrendered hearts toward My ways and purposes for their lives. The outward appearance gives way to time, and regardless of man's attempts to preserve it, the body succumbs to age. However, eternity flows from the heart of man.
2 Corinthians 4:18 - While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Greatness comes from the inner workings of the heart, those things not recognizable at first glance. Contrary to how the world operates, Godly character brings lasting promotion and it is from this place, I choose kingdom leadership.
Throughout history, many in My household of faith have left Me to follow other gods drawn by those things that appeal to their flesh and lusts. Tragically, the enemy entices My bride to abandon her faith to follow that which is alluring to the eyes of flesh only to find out it was a disappearing mirage.
My chosen people missed their Messiah because they looked for Me through the eyes of their flesh rather than recognizing Me with the eyes of their spirit. They did not recognize their King who was wrapped in swaddling clothes because they focused on the outward appearance expecting their King to appear differently.
The world overlooks greatness because of its obsession with the outward appearance. Many spend exorbitant amounts of time and resources catering to their bodies rather than building up and nurturing their character. I create people to carry the beauty of their Creator within. I make no mistakes regardless of what you have been told. I see your heart and I know your destiny.
Look with the eyes of the Spirit
And see yourself as I see you!
Look with the eyes of the Spirit
And see others as I see them!
Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for making judgments based on what I see with natural eyesight. I want to see as You do; I want to look within the hearts of people and see Your treasures. Holy Spirit show me when I fall into ungodliness in this area that I can quickly repent to begin viewing things as You do. Also, I repent for seeing myself through the glasses of inferiority and unworthiness. I choose to remove these glasses of the flesh and replace them with Your vision for my life. I want to see as You do Lord God! Amen.
