John 5:6-9
When Jesus saw him lying there, he already had been in that condition a long time,
He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?"
The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up;
but while I am coming, another steps down before me."
Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk."
And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
When man runs out of resources and places to turn, Jesus always breaks in on the scene to offer His services. Have you reached a place of wanting to give up in certain areas of your life? Are you weary in the process of waiting for the answer?
Can you just imagine the pain this man endured as infirmity relentlessly ravaged his body for 38 years? Discouragement must have daily tormented him as he watched others reach the healing pools before he could. Over and over, the waters would stir and somehow, he would pull himself toward the pool knowing it would produce excruciating pain throughout his body. Repeatedly, he would be turned away because someone else would rush ahead of him.
The disappointment alone would have driven most to give up and surrender to the sickness, but not this man. His faith kept driving him to the pools until one day, heaven showed up. Among the multitudes, Jesus found this man and did what no one else could; He carried him into the healing waters of His love. When others pushed past him, Jesus embraced Him and made him whole.
Today, you may feel as though life keeps passing you by and no one cares about the pain and suffering you endure. As with the man at Bethesda, precious Jesus offers His services and asks a simply question, "Do you want to be healed?"
You have done everything and have come to the realization that human intervention has failed. So why not fall into the arms of Jesus and let Him carry you into the healing pools of His love? He heard your heart cry and is waiting for you to run into his healing embrace.
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
Take a few minutes and craft your own prayer to Jesus telling Him your heart and your desire to be free. Let Him carry you into victory! With your eyes closed, watch as He carries you deep into the waters of His presence.
