Daily Read - Joshua 13:1-14:15; Luke 18:1-17; Psalm 85:1-13; Proverbs 13:7-8
Father God, Psalm 85 is our prayer today for this beautiful nation. We come into Your presence recognizing You are the God in whom we trust. We turn our backs on sin and unrighteousness and bow our hearts once again in humble adoration to the One True Living God. As Your people, we turn from our wicked ways and ask You to heal our land.
The earth groans for the manifestation of the sons of God. As Your body, we come together across denominational differences joining our hearts as a united front against the enemy's plans to divide and destroy our country.
We stand uncompromised on Your Word and unashamedly proclaim it as the plumb line of truth in the face of an adversary who has tried to silence our voice since the founding of this nation. With You as our strength and ever-present help, our voice will not be silenced! Quite the contrary, the cries of our heart are heard from Your holy hill and amplified throughout the world as a testimony that America, who once strayed from her path of light has returned to the One Who made her great.
Praise be to God who brings beauty from ashes and pours the oil of joy over the mourning in our land. We ask for You to wash away the heaviness of sin and clothe this land in the garments of praise. The sound of praise is heard rising from the mountains and hills; from the deserts and fields; and from ocean to ocean. A song of faith with a new sound of unity arises from the shadows of obscurity.
Psalm 85
1 Lord, You have been favorable to Your land;
You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;
You have covered all their sin. Selah
3 You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.
4 Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause Your anger toward us to cease.
5 Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
6 Will You not revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?
7 Show us Your mercy, Lord,
And grant us Your salvation.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak,
For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly.
9 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yes, the Lord will give what is good;
And our land will yield its increase.
13 Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.
