Mark 5:27-28
When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.
For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well."
Mark 5:34
And He said to her,"Daughter, your faith has made you well.
Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."
What an amazing story of faith and endurance. The woman with the issue of blood suffered for twelve years with infirmity, but still hoped for a cure. She pursued doctor after doctor hoping against hope that one day she would be well. These pursuits not only cost a great deal of money, but her ailment grew worse in the process.
Her continual search eventually led right to her Healer, Jesus Christ. She pressed through the enormous crowd believing she would be healed if she could just touch the hem of His garment. Nothing could deter this woman from receiving what she had persistently pressed through to receive. This miracle was years in the making!
With every bit of remaining strength, she pressed through against all odds, against the jeering crowd, and against the weakness in her own body until she reached her answer. Within a moment, years of seeking, asking, and knocking ended in jubilation and validation when Jesus spoke directly to her and said, "Your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."
This was an unforgettable day in the life of a determined woman. It also provides an unforgettable message of hope and encouragement to the multitudes who read her story!
Press on people of God, press on! Press on through the doubt that crept in through years of disappointment; press on through voices of skepticism that scream for you to turn back; and press on through the weariness that entices you to quit and give up.
You are almost there. Remember, everything changes when you touch the hem of His garment.
Press on and you will break through!
Lord Jesus, I declare Your Word, "Phil 3:13-14 - "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." I press past doubt, unbelief, fear, and anything that tries to hold me back from reaching forward into my inheritance. I will not give up nor give in to anything that contradicts Your truth. As the woman who tenaciously pursued her healing, I tenaciously pursue everything that You extravagantly provide for me! Amen!
