Daily Read - Job 37:1-39:30; 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:10; Psalm 44:9-26; Proverbs 22:13

 Job 38-39

These chapters are two of the most powerful found in the Bible. You can't help but experience the awesome presence of God as you read them. Job must have been awe struck to hear the voice of God speak from the middle of a whirlwind. His Creator actually came and personally addressed him. Talk about shaking someone up!

How would you feel to have God Himself ask you questions about His Almightiness? It must have taken Job's breath away. The Lord strongly rebukes his son during this exchange which in actuality reveals the intense love He had for him. The Lord chastens those He loves.

If you have experienced a season of disappointment and discouragement, which has led you to question the character and nature of God, don't be surprised if He comes and personally addresses you as He did Job. The Father loves you with a deep, passionate love and brings correction in order to establish our walk on the solid Rock.

Take a few minutes and prayerfully read Job 38-39 and as you do, notice how each question God asks strikes deep chords within your inner man. In the middle of correction, the Lord brings tremendous encouragement because within the questions He reveals His omnipotence.

Can you answer any of the questions God posed to Job?
