Church Picnic
From Sanctuary to Sunshine -
It’s a Gateway Family Celebration!
SUNDAY, JULY 13TH | AFTER SERVICE

Pack your chairs, your blankets, and your appetite— it’s going to be a fun-filled day with your Gateway family. On Sunday, July 13th we'll begin at church for our Sunday service at 10 AM for worship and a short message. Right after service, join us at Addenbrooke Park for an unforgettable afternoon filled with great food, joyful connection, and fun games for all ages. We’ll have volleyball, relay races, space to relax, and plenty of room to play and be together as a church family.

This fun-filled picnic will also take the place of our monthly food fellowship, The Gathering—so come ready to eat, laugh, play, and enjoy a beautiful afternoon in the sunshine with your Gateway family!

We also encourage you to invite someone who may be new to Jesus or unsure about church. This is a perfect, pressure-free opportunity for them to experience the joy, love, and authentic community found in the body of Christ.
Location: Addenbrooke Park – 600 S. Kipling Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226

**BEST PARKING** Use Garrison Street entrance at 601 S. Garrison St., Lakewood, CO 80226 for easier access to our picnic site.** A park map will be handed out at church the morning of the 13th so you’ll know exactly where to go.**

**WHAT TO BRING** To make this potluck-style picnic a success, we’d love for everyone to bring something to share! Here are some suggestions to help cover all the bases:

Main Dishes:

Fried chicken, sandwiches or wraps, sliders, drumsticks, or hearty pasta salads
Sides:
Potato salad, baked beans, chips and dip, veggie trays, or fruit skewers
Desserts & Snacks:
Cookies, brownies, popsicles, trail mix, or cheese & cracker platters
Drinks:
Bottled water, lemonade, iced tea, or juice boxes for the kids
(Coolers with ice are a huge help!)

We’ll follow up soon with more details about food logistics—like where to drop things off, how to transport your dish, and anything else you’ll need to help everything run smoothly.

STRONG Families

3rd Friday

STRONG Families
STRONG Families
FOOD - FUN - FELLOWSHIP
Facilitated by Deacons Dean & Karla Drury
3rd Friday | 5:30 PM

A place where families with children can feel like they belong. A place of fun and fellowship that serves as a foundation for sharing the love of Jesus in practical ways that enhance the season that they’re in. God is the author of families, and He desires them to be strong and purposeful as a unit. He desires families to be a safe place where His legacy can take root and grow. He is a generational God.

For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name].
Ephesians 3:14-15

“We are a family before we are an army.” author unknown

Strength Our strength comes from our identity as God’s children – We are His family. The strength of His bloodline, heritage, and inheritance is meant for us. Strength, through families, is the foundational fabric of every nation.

Johnny and Elizabeth Enlow on the Rise Website say it like this: “It is a generational strength that was meant to help us as individuals stand against the storms of life when everything else falls apart and the one safe place you can always come back to for acceptance and love.”

Time Together We have been created for community and fellowship.

This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together as some have formed the habit of doing. In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate the day dawning.  Hebrews 10:25

Relationships are built through time and experiences. We can build each other up and strengthen one another.

Be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers as members of one family. Try to outdo yourselves in respect and honor of one another.
Romans 12:10

One-Accord We are spreading the fragrance of God and powerfully impacting our surroundings with the kingdom when we operate in this level of unity.

All the believers were one in mind and in heart. Selfishness was not a part of their community, for they shared everything they had with one another…Not a single person among them was needy. Acts 4:32-35

Nuclear foundational to God’s will in the earth…the family unit and the church family were designed to have authority and dominion, as a nucleus determines the function of a cell….so the health of the family determines the function of the ecclesia.

I give you the name Peter, a stone. And this rock will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church – my legislative assembly, and the power of death will not be able to overpower it! Matthew 16: 18

Games, recreation, and fun! God is the author of fun and joy and he created us for His pleasure. He created the earth for our pleasure and dominion. The Joy of the Lord is our STRENGTH!
