Psalm 93:3-4
The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.
The Lord on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea.
Father God, the world around me is changing right before my eyes. I see the floodwaters of adversity everywhere I look, but I also see the floodwaters of Your Spirit sweeping across the land. You are mightier than anything the enemy contrives. Your waves and billows are washing over the world bringing resurrection and renewal. Your voice thunders and all plans of Satan cease. Precious Lord, You are the wind beneath my wings and You carry me to the safety of Your presence far above the storms of life. I take rest in your arms of shalom. Amen!
Psalm 93:3-4
The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.
The Lord on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea.
The depths of the oceans violently churn responding to the intensity of the hour. Earth, in like fashion shifts and shakes under the pressure of a world thrown into the chaos of sin. The world grows smaller by the moment as technology brings global events immediately into our homes via television and internet. We watch in horror and disbelief as disaster after disaster take their toll on millions across the earth. Heartbreak and despair seem to monopolize the news media and a message of fear spreads like wild fire through the airwaves.
Voices of fear scream for attention counting on those in the world to recoil in terror, BUT GOD SITS ON THE THRONE. His voice resonates throughout the universe as that of many waters. He is in control! Though natural waves may sweep over entire landscapes forever changing the lives of already shattered people, our God reigns and brings beauty from the ashes of destruction. He takes what evil means for calamity and transforms it into good for those who love Him.
He is a good God and mightier than the most tumultuous storm in your life. One word from His mouth stills the raging seas and brings peace to thunderous storms. In this very moment, you may feel overwhelmed by floodwaters trying to pull you under to drown you in overwhelming circumstances. As an act of your will, release these weighty things to Him. Reach out for His life preserver and let Him bring you into the safety of His presence.
