Daily Read – Genesis 8:1-10:32; Matthew 4:12-25; Psalm 4:1-8; Proverbs 1:20-23
Matthew 4:18-20
And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them,
"Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
Are you ready and willing to leave all to follow Me?  There was not a moment of hesitation in the minds of Peter and Andrew when I called them to follow.  They immediately left their vocation, livelihood, and life to follow someone they really didn't know, but I knew them!
Are you willing to obey whatever I ask of you even if that means doing something so outrageous it goes beyond logic and reason? Noah obeyed Me when I told him to build an ark in the middle of the desert. His mind could not comprehend the purpose and need for an ark since there had never been rain on earth. However, he chose to set his understanding aside and trust Me with his whole heart, even in the midst of daily mocking and persecution. As a result, I rescued his family and ultimately yours!
I would never call on you to do something you are not already equipped to do. I am a God of order and peace. The key question is, "Do you fully trust Me with your life?"
Many of My children cannot hear My voice because they are afraid of what I might say. In the spirit, they plug their ears with fear. I need your ears to hear Me because I have much to communicate especially in this season. I need your undivided attention because a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. If the world has your ears, then your attention span is limited and not fully fixed on Me. This puts you in a dangerous position because you receive mixed messages from flesh, soul, and spirit. Confusion is the resulting fruit which leads to shipwreck.
Peter, Andrew, and Noah were men who trusted Me and quickly obeyed when I called. They are history makers!
In this new year, My question to you is:
Will you follow Me?
Dear Jesus, I say, "Yes, I will follow You!" I do not know what that exactly looks like, but I fully trust You to lead and guide me into understanding. I want to not only hear Your voice, but also have the boldness and courage to obey what You say. I choose to put down reputation, status, and people pleasing to obey You in all situations. I want to know Your voice so intimately that I immediately respond when You call! Amen!
