Daily Read – Jeremiah 39:1-41:18; 2 Timothy 1:1-18; Psalm 90:1-91:16; Proverbs 26:1-2
Please meditate on Psalms 91 before reading the devotional. This is a powerful portion of scripture that will bring encouragement and strength into your day!
2 Timothy 1:7-8
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear),
but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. Do not blush or be ashamed then, to testify to and for our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake, but [with me] take your share of the suffering [to which the preaching]
of the Gospel [may expose you, and do it] in the power of God.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I am accessible to My children. I make provision for each one to live in and out of a place of refuge and safety in My Presence. In this place, you find rest and I fill you with power, love, and soundness of mind. The only one who cannot come into the secret place is the enemy. In fact, he melts like wax in My holy presence. He absolutely hates this place and tries implementing strategies to keep My children from entering because he knows when they walk in the Spirit and live out of the secret place they are empowered to overcome.
Timidity and fear do not come from Me, they originate from Satan targeting My people with the purpose of paralyzing their destinies. These two coharts work together to keep my people locked down and intimidated, robbing them of their testimony.
I have given you the power to overcome intimidation. I have given you the power to rise up with a bold witness of who I am in your life. As an act of your will, choose to shake off fear and timidity giving them no place and run into the secret place. As you live from this place of the Spirit, you will discover an ever-increasing courage and boldness to share your testimony regardless of the possible onslaught of persecutions including mockery, slander, or ridicule.
Father, I shake off everything that keeps me from being a bold witness for You. You have given me everything I need to carry Your message to this world with bold tenacity. I choose to crucify the flesh and take up the cross daily testifying of the cross, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I am not deterred by the suffering of persecutions, but will receive the empowerment that comes from them.
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation!
